The original score by Lau Nau for Katja Gauriloff’s film Je’vida won Jussi prize.
I’m so surprised and happy! Both because I got a Jussi prize for my music for Je’vida and that I got to do such a minimalistic and subtle score for this beautiful film. I feel very honored that I was trusted to make the music for the first long Skolt Sámi film. But not alone!
It wouldn’t have been possible without the invitation and careful guidance by the director Katja Gauriloff and the airy jouhikko arrangements by Pekko Käppi who joined me on stage receiving the prize. Heidi Juliana Gauriloff’s leu’dd is an important part of the score. Timo Peltola & Jukka Nurmela edited my music so graciously. Pekka Aikio, Anna Lumikivi, Pietu Korhonen, Juulia Haverinen, Anna Nuru and Oktober were helping me on the way. Thank you everyone!
