Lau Nau: Quadrafonic: A series of live concerts for 4-channel sound system, played with modular synthesizer, voice, water bowl with a hydrophone, rocks and some objects.
This series of concerts is based on my practice in multi channel audio works for art museums & galleries as well as earlier 4-8 channel concerts. I wanted to prepare a live music environment where I sit in the middle of the venue surrounded by audience – sitting around an imaginary bonfire, in the sweet spot where the quadrafonic sound feels at its richest. Performing without a computer, giving the audience a possibility to observe the process and the instruments. Part of the inspiration comes from Don Buchla’s instrument design, Suzanne Ciani’s quadrafonic concerts, Laurie Spiegel’s rhythmic sequence based compositions, as well as so many contemporary artists who I’ve seen perform live over the past 25 years. Thank you. I have been developing this new series of concerts for a longer time and I feel happy to finally perform it – feel free to reach out to me for booking questions. Thank you Taike – Arts Promotion Centre Finland for support. Pictures are taken in November 2025 at Musa Ullakolla / Toinen kerros, Helsinki by Juho Liukkonen.
