Sjömannaröster is a 4 channel, 4 hour long sound installation that transports the listener into the history of 1000 years of seafaring in Kimito Island, western Finland. Laura Naukkarinen has created the installation compiling interviews by Juha Ruusuvuori of seafarers and their family members.

The installation had it’s premiere June 27th – July 27th 2018 at Gamla Tackjärngjuteriet in Dalsbruk, Finland in the interrelated exhibition 1000 Years of Seafaring in Kimito Island that also included theatre sailings by Rövarteatren.
